The seven Vietnam International Academic Networks (VIANs) established with support of the USAID Partnership for Higher Education Reform project, organized 29 webinars in Q1/Y2, thanks to the efforts of the VIAN international expert Coordinators and university Focal Points in Vietnam – surpassing the target of 28 VIAN webinars for Year 2 of the project. The number of participants compared to Q1 has increased by more than 46%, from 318 to 466 scholars.
To achieve this result, the project acted as a catalyst for VIAN coordinators and focal points at the 3Us. Numerous meetings were held to orient members to the purpose and anticipated activities. the project also cooperated with Nam Can Tho University and International University to help network content experts in various academic fields to help them present and share their work more widely with researchers in Vietnam.
The work of the various VIANs is now embracing students, organizing workshops on research methodology. With the growth of in-person/hybrid workshops, the number of participants has been increasing, thereby helping to enhance the reach of VIAN activities.
The objective of supporting VIANs through the project is to enhance the research capabilities of Vietnamese scholars through knowledge sharing, networking, and community building.
