On the evening of October 6, 2022, following up with the success of the first webinar in the series of activities of the Vietnam-International Academic Network (VIAN)-Anthropology and Cultural Studies, the second webinar successfully took place with the facilitation of Prof. Erik Harms (Professor of Anthropology & Southeast Asian Studies; Director of Graduate Studies; Chair, Council on Southeast Asian Studies, Yale University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Huong (Department of Anthropology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Hong Hai (Department of Anthropology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
During the webinar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Hong Hai delivered a presentation on the topic: “Pseudomorph or Quasi-religion: A case study of Maitreya – god of wealth in Vietnam”. His presentation provided lots of useful and interesting information; and received vibrant inputs from more than 20 national and international experts on this topic.
