From June 4-16, 2023, USAID Partnership for Higher Education Reform project conducted a monitoring mission to Vietnam National University-Hanoi, Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City, the University of Danang, and a range of member universities. During the visit, the project leadership team met with university representatives and the project focal points to assess the progress of implementation of project activities.

The meetings focused on assessing progress of Year Two (Y2) work plan and activities implemented in collaboration with each university, including technical assistance to support development of management information systems (MIS), research compliance, internal quality assurance (IQA), Centers for Teaching Excellence (CTEs), Innovation and commercialization of research, application of key performance indicators (KPI) for human resource evaluations, international accreditation standards, and career exploration for students, among other project-supported activities.

In preparation for the Year Three (Y3) work program that begins on October 1, 2023, the project also met with USAID representatives to share findings and reflections from Y2 implementation and consider lessons learned. The leadership team also worked internally with the Vietnam-based team to launch the Y3 work plan and budget process.
