Indiana University Career’s Edge Helps Support Students at University of Economics and Business (UEB) VNU in Vietnam through Mentoring

In March 2023, USAID Partnership for Higher Education Reform project met with the Accounting and Auditing Department of the University of Economics and Business (UEB)-VNU to discuss and make plans for future cooperative activities to support professional development of students.

the project will provide a series of self-paced learning courses related to career management, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills in English. These will be adapted and delivered through the IU learning platform for mentors and mentees. The “Meet UEB Mentor 2023 program has now connected 58 mentors and 19 mentees. It is anticipated that popularity with students will grow, and that around 100 senior students will also join these online learning courses. Dean of the Accounting and Auditing Department Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy has expressed her appreciation for the enthusiastic and meaningful support of the project in this matter and shared her hope for further cooperation with the project in the future.

The project seeks to help university students in Vietnam connect more readily to professional pathways through career support activities. One tool will be to ensure UEB students gain access and participate in IU comprehensive career skills courses (Career Edge on IU’s platform). This series of activities seeks to help students enhance their soft skills, build a professional profile, and explore job-seeking strategies.
