Supporting the Management Information System (MIS) is a crucial activity under USAID Partnership for Higher Education Project.
During June 26 to July 4 2023, a team of experts from Indiana University including Professor Victor Borden and Dennis Cromwell conducted a series of working sessions at the University of Danang, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National University – Hanoi to provide consultation and technical support on how to build and develop an effective MIS that support decision-making processes at corporate levels.
Through the discussions, the expert team provided comments on architecture, data model, and the need for critical analysis for all reporting elements that are useful to the effective and efficient management of the universities. Also, it is important that the universities take into consideration appointing data stewardship, developing regulations and policies for data governance and working with member universities to ensure that MIS can eventually hold all data necessary for decision making.
