SUMMARY:Webinar: Does Full-Day Kindergarten Combined with Small Class Size Boost Test Scores?
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: David Frisvold, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, University of Iowa\nAbstract:\nWe examine the impact on academic achievement of a unique program for kindergarten students that directly targets children at the greatest risk of underperforming academically. The program combines full-day kindergarten with small class sizes and emphasizes literacy instruction. Our results suggest that being offered admission to the OEK program increased reading achievement but this effect did not persist through the end of first grade.\n
